
Mayor of East Rutherford
East Rutherford Mayor Jeffrey J. Lahullier is a longtime public servant and supporter of environmental preservation. He is Chairman of the Hackensack Meadowlands Municipal Committee, Vice-President and former President of the Bergen County Open Space Trust Fund Public Advisory Committee, a member of the Bergen County Historic Preservation Advisory Board, President of the East Rutherford Historical Society and a member of the Bergen County Historical Society.
His accomplishments as Mayor and a former Borough Councilman include persuading Norfolk-Southern Corporation to sell an abandoned, 12-acre rail spur to Bergen County which was transformed into 12 acres of open space. Mayor Lahullier successfully lobbied NJ Transit to reroute buses off busy borough streets, played a substantial role in the completion of the East Rutherford Community/Senior Center and construction of the Police Station, and negotiated a shared service fuel program with surrounding municipalities.
A Carlstadt native, Mayor Lahullier is a former member of the borough’s Board of Education, a Life Member of the East RutherfordVFW and was a five-term President and 40-year member of the Carlstadt/East Rutherford Lion’s Club.
He received an associate degree from Fairleigh Dickenson University and completed coursework in Municipal Finance Administration and Municipal Budget Process at Rutgers University Mayor Lahullier is co-owner of L&L Mechanical Construction and Design in East Rutherford. He and his wife, Barbara, have been married for 40 years and have two daughters and two grandchildren.
