Mayor of Ridgefield
Anthony R. Suarez has been an elected official for the Borough of Ridgefield since 1999, serving as Councilman from 1999-2003, and Mayor since 2004.
Mr. Suarez is also an attorney at law of the State of New Jersey and New York, and a member of the Bergen County Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and a former member of the New Jersey Law Revision Commission, and the District Fee Arbitration Committee.
Mr. Suarez also serves as Acting Director for the Bergen County Department of Community Transportation, which provides transportation to residents of Bergen County.
Mr. Suarez received his undergraduate degree from St. Peter’s University, and thereafter graduated from Fordham University School of Law where he served as a member of the Fordham Environmental Law Review and was active with the Fordham Community Service Project. Mr. Suarez also holds a diplomate in municipal law from Rutgers University.
Mr. Suarez lives in Ridgefield with his wife Catherine, and their two children, Laura and Matthew. He is active in his community as a member of St. Matthew’s Church and recreation soccer.
